This past Saturday R and I went to Buitrago de Lozoya -a small town with deep arab, jewish and Christian roots that has a remarkably well taken care of city wall. We brough a picnic which we ate along the banks of the Lozoya river, Buitrago is surrounded on three sides by water, and then proceeded to simply wander. After nearly 2 hours on the bus from Madrid (less than 5 euros each way) it was necessary to stretch our legs and then to draw a bit.
