I am home and fully investing my heart, soul, mind and strength into J.K. Rowling's most recent addition to this world: Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Writer Rainer Maria Rilke speaks of being present in our sadness, that we must be aware and awake in order to recognize those moments "when our future steps into us" for they are more real, or relatable, than the loudness outside. So no, I am not covering my ears and mind to thoughts of New York by reading Harry Potter and indeed am rather open. Open to the present as a reflection and accumulation of the past and as a building of the future.
